Blue Bell Issues Ice Cream Recall

Blue Bell Creameries has issued a voluntary recall of select products produced in its Sylacauga, Ala., plant due to concerns of Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The products were made with a chocolate chip cookie dough ingredient supplied by third party supplier Aspen Hills Inc. The products were distributed in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

The recall includes half gallon and pint containers of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Cookie Two Step. No illnesses have been reported to date. Blue Bell identified the problem through internal testing and notified Aspen Hills.
